Our client is a leading financial services business with an offering spanning retail and corporate banking. They have huge growth ambitions in the UK and are looking for someone to lead the communications strategy in the UK.
Responsibilities:
To increase the Group’s profile in the UK and to ensure that their strategy for UK Financial Services and its constituent businesses is communicated to key audiences. The role-holder will be responsible for all PR and external communications for the Groups’ UKFS divisions, and will work closely with the CEO UKFS and his Leadership Team to achieve this successfully.
Acconutabilities:
- Develop and implement a communications strategy for UKFS that will support and reflect the growth strategy of the business in the UK.
- To establish a programme of communications activities for the Chief Executive, UKFS.
- Lead the development and manage the implementation of PR plans for key business units in UKFS, namely Personal Lending, Business Banking and Corporate Banking to reflect and support their achievements.
- Support the articulation of the overall Group PR strategy messages to key influencers in the UK.
- Support management in crisis/issues management in order to limit any damage to the brand.
Key Dimensions:
The new role will:
- Manage a small number of direct reports
- Manage a PR consultancy budget of (to be defined)
- Manage external communications and PR for UKFS division
Key Capabilities:
- Candidate should have excellent media connections in both national and trade media
- Candidate should have excellent communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to engage with others is critical
- Confidence to play a key role alongside the senior management team.
- Good analytical skills combined with a practical approach to problem solving.
- Proven ability to devise and implement detailed and complex business PR plans.
Decision Making Authority:
- The role will report to the Head of Group Corporate Communications and will work closely with the CEO and his senior management team in the UK in the implementation of the communications programmes.
- A budget will be defined and agreed for the execution of the function.
- In addition, a measurement system will be devised and implemented to track the impact/successes achieved.
